Montana

With anticipation of not having a lot of time I wanted to write an update before I have internet access so that I can let you know ALL about our rock’n Montana trip.

Montana may 2008 014

We arrived Sunday afternoon only to be in Wal-Mart for 2 hours racking up a VERY LARGE food bill for a week of sears family eating. Equipped with steak, 20 lbs of hamburger meat and lots of chips, cookies, and every other junk food you can think of the Sears were off from Billings to Nye. We arrived to find an absolutely perfect cabin. The Harrison’s have the best place out here. With an overlook of mountains we quickly turned on all the heaters since half of us were unprepared for the weather change from Florida’s 80’s to Montana’s 40’s.

Our first few days were full of hikes, naps, cards, board games, movies, fishing, and pingpong. Monday we took the “easy hike” that Mrs. Carol recommended. It was a quick hour and a half hike up to a waterfall. Which was awesome, but Tuesday was an even more beautiful hike. We went to Sue Charles Lake which on the way we were walking along a river with all these rocks and rapids it was sooo beautiful. It was over a 6 mile hike total and we were all tired by the time we were done. So we all came home and just chilled. We later went and checked out “ the lodge” which has 2 pool tables and a ping pong table so we had a few family competitions which was fun.

Wednesday we left for Yellowstone. On the way we FINALLY had our first cell phone service which well… let’s just say we were all FREAKING OUT that we had. We stopped off in Cody, WY to get our OLD TIMEY photos done, which was fun. I decided that I wanted to be a “Sexy saloon girl” hahaha. Then while in Cody we went to Irma’s – Buffalo Bill’s hotel thingie. Then we went and checked out the Buffalo Bill museum. Then once we had a little SUV switch due to a shaking pathfinder and a check engine light, we were off to Yellowstone.

We drove in and all the sudden we saw tons of cars stopped. To our luck we saw an ELK so cool. It took a while before we saw our next set of animals so it was fun to get to see the elk when we first arrived. We turned a corner to find the ground covered in snow and a lake half froze over. So being from Georgia the sight of snow made us all freak out. We all got out and started throwing snow balls at each other and while we were out there it began to snow some more. Snow at the end of May… this is something most of us have never seen. Soon we were introduced to our favorite animal on the trip. The American Bison. I counted and so far I have found 75 pictures JUST of bison and that isn’t even counting Kensie’s pictures hahah. We saw lots and lots of them. Some very large, some babies and even some shedding. During the rest of the trip we experienced Pronghorns, Deer, birds, and a few other little critters. Since it took so long getting through the first part of Yellowstone once we got to our final destination of day one ( Madison city in west Yellowstone) we quickly found a place to eat because we were all STARVING. We went to a good ol pizza joint and were all satisfied before we got back to the Hibernation Station ( where my parents had stayed 2 years ago and we just HAD to stay there).

Thursday we got up and went to a yummy pancake house to get our day started off right! we then got a few gifts and got on with our day. We did the rest of Yellowstone which included Old Faithful, the Upper and Lower falls and mammoth something haha

Once we finally got through Yellowstone we got on the scenic route to go home on the Cheif Joesph Highway it was really beautiful and during our ride we drove over ( and stopped) on the highest bridge in Wyoming.  We finally rolled on home around 11:15 pm ( 1:15 am georgia time)

FINALLY.. it is friday and we got up to my dad cooking us all a yummy breakfast and then we all went fishing. I caught a fish this morning which was pretty large!! IMG_0937 IMG_0938

Time is ticking away.. tick tick tick'n away

Does thinking about all the things you have to do in a short amount of time ever overwhelm you.

My brain is a little half and half of the subject. A little 50-50

I try not to think about how much i have to do in such a short amount of time and during those times i feel fine. But then every once in a while i start thinking.. wow i have 2 weeks now before i need to be finished with getting stuff ready for my trip and on top of that i am working a ton and trying to get the last bit of money i need for my trip.

Today is the 1st sunday i have just CHILLED out in a really long time. It feels really good. Keith is in his room sleeping since he worked last night and is working again tonight. I am just trying to take this time and chill. It is good to not have much to think about ( ok not to have school to think about)

I am going to make dinner for mr.davis tonight ... maybe some pork chops or some chicken... not sure which yet. Something yummy for him. I am going to miss him a lot this summer. So i wanna get in all the "Be a good girlfriend" stuff before i leave.. I.E. Cook him dinner and do all the nice things a girlfriend should always do hahaha.

Then i am going to go to cvs and get a photobook. Those things are pimp ( not uping CVS sales... but they are cool) I got a coupon that expires today so i think i am going to do one more book from my 2006 trip to kosova. FUN!

OK THAT IS ABOUT THAT.
PEACE.

OH YEAH. I FEEL LIKE I FORGOT TO TALK ABOUT OUR KOSOVA CUPCAKES.. OR CUPTORTES HAHAHA

Katie and I went crazy the night before Mark came into town and got a little artsy
The childish looking cupcakes are mine.. katies are the pretty ones hahahah
