This week has been absolutely great. We met with so many students and had great turn-outs to every event that we did. A huge blessing of course.

Here in Europe the " Euro Cup" Soccer tournament is HUGE. We have been watching it with our students the whole time. It has really been a great way to get to know each other and just have fun togehter. At the beginning, every team i picked seemed to lose. BUT i finally picked correctly 2 games ago and SPAIN... my team... won the whole thing.

Too bad Katie picked Germany... she was forced ( with her team) to eat a really gross banana, but i gladly topped it with whipped cream hahah.

How can I gain from His reward.

As i write this i am surrounded by some of my favorite Albanian friends. They are over for the final night of the Euro Cup. Spain vs. Germany. Katie is for Germany, while Laura and I are rooooooting for Spain. As of right now Spain is winning so.. wahoooo

 

This weekend we had the pleasure to hangout with the sumemr workers from the capital city. I had such a good time showing them around MY CITY hahaha. We later took them to the mountains which are the best part about waking up in the morning here. We headed up to Guri I Kuq for lunch and a light hike... Laura and I would call this a Stroll or walk. If Wes were still here it would be a 1/10th hike... not a hike but a hike hike and a half hahahah.

It was a beautiful day today. I am going to go enjoy my friends now.

p.s. i finally got some sun today... if sunburn is called sun hahaha

what to write

i have been really bad at updating this week. My internet has been down for about two days and when it isn't down the connection is slower than a snail.

We are going up to Ragova today for some time in the beautiful mountains.

I am going to update about the week later tonight! i have lots of pictures i think hahaha

The temperature keeps rising. It is hard to keep cool when the power goes off and the fans stop running. The constant state of sweatiness is not so fun haha

Today was full of visits, so that was exciting. I got to meet with my awesome friend from last year FINALLLLLLY. Her name is Rajmunda and she is just the sweetest girl ever! We headed up the Symetronix for some ice cream and just some time to catch up.  She has one of those laughs that just makes you laugh along with her. She is so precious to me!

 

Later today we had some girls over for a MOVIE night.  Katie and Laura used their Culinary Skills to produce some DELISH items to munch on. We had some banana bread, popcorn from the stove, and a watermelon thing hahaha. I  of course just set up the movie and hung out.. i leave the foood cooking up to the pros. ALTHOUGH i have been making a killer tomato and cucumber salad the past two days. Father of the bride was our feature movie tonight. It was great until the power went off at 9 shutting down the projector and sound with 10 min. of our movie left.  Oh how i love this land!

So last night we attended a wedding... KS style... over the internet! hahahah

 

Congrats to Wesley and Rachael Morris!

So last night they streamed us in live via Skype and we ( with a group of about 6 friends) enjoyed the wedding all the way from Oklahoma!

Although our Internet connection kept messing up we still saw a good bit of the ceremony.

But sadly.. we missed the kiss  and the presentation of the new couple...we were all upset but after when we  got back on they came and said hello to all of us. It was really great!

So the other night... Katie THOUGHT she had the key to our place so... no one else grabbed a key... then after i had shut the door Katie found out that she didn't have the key... GREAT! So as we waited outside to be saved from our "lockedoutness" We used the opportunity as a time for a photoopp haha

Last Sunday we hit up a local village that Laura and I had helped in two years ago.  The girls there are so cute and they love to play games and just hug all over us. We enjoyed is more this time though because they didn't tell laura and i that we were " shume trashe" meaning "very fat". So i guess that is good news for laura and i hahaha.

But we had a quick story from Luke about the master who gave each of his servants a certain amount of talents and how each one of them used them. The one invested and doubled his earnings and so did the 2nd but the 3rd just dug a hole and hid his so he wouldn't lose it. We told the kids that they are given abilities and talents and they should use them to their best ability. 

It was  great and after that we just played games with the girls.. fun times!

After 4 long long long days we are finished painting and believe me i am sooo happy that i did not have to wake up and go paint this morning! We finished yesterday around 4 and were so happy to be done. The place looks great! I will post some pictures once i upload them! wahoo

It's raining PAINT

Thanks to some awesome donations from the states the leadership team (and us four girls) have been finishing a project that started a year and a half ago. During the 1st leadership camp that i attended the campers came up with the idea to repaint their school.  After a long time of painting and plastering there were still 11 classrooms to be completed. Fully trusting on Him to provide, we told all the students that this week we would be painting the last few classrooms.

We started monday and our pace has been about 3 rooms a day. The ceilings have been taking us the longest but we are pushing through. We were a little weary that not many students would show up to help but each day the number of helpers has increased.

Many people think it is strange to see us girls working so hard, but it is a great example to show them that hard things can be done you just have to work hard.

The funniest part of this week has been the fact that each kid MUST be cleaned up and changed into new clothes before leaving the school, while, us four girls just walk outside COVERED in paint.

Keith says you aren't a good painter if you have more paint on you than the wall, but we have done so many walls now that i am sure the walls have just a little more than i do.

Saturday night we celebrated one of the fellow workers here birthday. She turned 31 and we had a night full of desserts and games. We had an organized pillow fight which was so funny i could not believe it. 

 

We also had our first meeting for the university camp today and it was really fun meeting a lot of the students. we are going to we starting a conversation class with the students so hopefully we  can get to know them better and they can improve with their english.

ALSO.... our favorite Brit Ben arrived today and he will be staying for a week. We are SOOOO excited to see him and work with him  for the next week. He is so awesome and such a blessing to have around.

oh my gooodness. I almost forgot. we got the have MEXICAN FOOD on saturday wahooo it was pretty close to real mexican food.

For my wedding

Friday night Matt and I went over to one of the university students houses. We enjoyed some yummy Fli and salad of course. Along with Albanian Tea. We had a wonderful time talking about funny things and getting to know each other. After dinner the sisters showed me all of their hand made table covers and towels and other things and at the end of the night they presented me with a set for " my marriage" The things they make they sell to people who are getting married so it was really sweet of them to present me with this. Matt and i had a wonderful time and went home with about 10 pounds of left over fli hhahaha

We enjoyed a wonderful day on thursday with my good friend Ibish and some of his fellow colleagues for a day of fun. Lucky for us Matt drove us so we got to leave a lot later. So when we arrived we went for lunch as Ben-af's my first Buffet experience here in KS

I got GOOOOOOOLASH! it was yummy!

 

Then we just spent the afternoon speaking with the students and just chilling out.

Today we had an absolutely packed out day. We started with a language lesson from our friend and lets just say she said we all got an F AHHH

Then we got to eat at LALA yes the place named after laura! We have Chabopies, yum! Then we had coffee with a student from last year. Tonight we had a PEDICURE PARTY!!!!! 8 girls came and it was so fun. I am going to put up some AWESOME pictures later on. We had such a great time just laughing and chatting with the girls. We will defiantly do it again!

Tomorrow we are going to Prizran it is going to be awesome!

It's Raining it's Pouring.

Each day for a bit we have a nice little rain storm.

today was more like a thunderstorm. It is nice that we are actually get rain here.... unlike last year when it never rained.

but have no fear you can still have coffee/ juice in the rain, but i prefer Coke Zero... which they have here.. sweeeeeet!

Umbrellas are so much better than Ponchos... like two years ago with Laura and I.. just scary.. if i had a picture of it i would post it now hahah
